2026-2027 Scholarship and Financial Aid Opportunities 

We value your Commitment to scholarship and the provision of chapter innovative programming.  

Welcome to the Online Scholarship and Seed Grant Application. The National Scholarship and Standards Committee is now accepting applications for our 2026-2027 scholarship/financial aid and chapter grant programs. 

Available Awards

General Financial Aid
  • Open to all Members in good standing (currently financial).

    • Good Standing is a Member currently not on Disciplinary Action (C&D, Probation, Suspension or Expulsion).
  • Awards are based on academic merit.

  • Awards support undergraduate and graduate studies across all fields. 

Special Scholarship Programs  

Available to financial members pursuing specific fields of study: 

  1. Julia Bumry Jones Scholarship: Graduate studies in Communications 

  2. Juliette Derricotte Scholarship: Graduate studies in Social Group Work 

  3. Sadie T.M. Alexander Scholarship: Graduate studies in Law 

  4. Myra Davis Hemmings Scholarship: Graduate studies in Performing or Creative Arts 

  5. Bertha Pitts Campbell Scholarship: Graduate or undergraduate studies in Education 

  6. Vashti Turley Murphy Scholarship: Master's or Doctoral studies in Ministry

  7. Cheryl A. Hickmon Scholarship: Medicine/Health Field

Seed Grants 
  1. Chapters must select the application type and ensure chapter contact information is included on the application.
  2. Collegiate/Alumnae Chapters are encouraged to apply.
  3. Chapters should ensure programming does not provide financial support for members or the community.
  4. Programs cannot include existing sorority initiatives such as Delta Gems, EMBODI. 
  5. Selected programs/initiatives will be funded for Fall 2026 and must conclude by June 30, 2027

How to Apply

We've streamlined our application process through our online platform: 

  • Single application for both general aid and special scholarships 

  • Easy login using your DST Member Portal credentials. If you do not have active Member Portal credentials prior to logging in to the platform, you must log into members.dstonline.org to reset your password 

  • Direct upload of all required documents (Transcript and recommendation letter)  

Navigating the Application

You are able to complete the application over multiple sessions using your dstonline.org username and password. You are able to save the application and make updates and submit once you've completed all the sections fully. Click Start Application to begin a new application. To save your work, click on the Save button at the bottom of each page. To advance to the next page, click Save and Next. Once you have completed all sections, click Save and Finalize. Click My Applications from the left menu to access an application previously saved.

Required Materials

  1. Complete online application.

  1. One letter of recommendation: 

    • If you are currently matriculating at an institution, the letter must be written by a professor.

    • If you are not currently matriculating at an institution, the letter must be written by your supervisor, colleague, Member, spiritual leader, or civic leader/community activist.  

    • The letter must include knowledge of the applicant, personal attributes and commitment to their academic goals. 

  1. Current copy of an official academic transcript. 

    • The transcript must be the most recent and issued within 90 days of the application submission date. 

Important Information 

  • Application Deadline: February 8, 2026

  • Maximum Award Period: Previous awardees may receive the scholarship for up to a total of two years, regardless of whether those years are consecutive or non-consecutive.

  • Multiple Applications: Scholarship applicants can apply for more than one scholarship/financial aid category however an applicant can only be awarded one scholarship for the Fall 2026 academic season.    

  • Review Process: The Scholarship and Standards Committee will review applications  

  • Notification: Sorors will be notified of decisions by May 30, 2026.

  • Scholarship/Financial Aid Acceptance Deadline: Recipients must acknowledge and accept their award within 30 calendar days of notification. Failure to respond within this 30-day period will result in forfeiture of the scholarship/financial aid.
